First, a quick thanks to all of those that reached out after my last newsletter with well wishes for my then upcoming spinal surgery. I had the surgery June 10 and It has been a slow go with a lot of missed productive time before and after, but I am making progress, doing more every day.
Now to DAC, the Internet and so many terrific openings.
DAC is here and unfortunately; I will not be there. It will be the first conference I've missed in some 24 years. I have talked to a lot of C-level executives who have all surprisingly expressed optimistic sentiments about this years DAC. After all the conference was cancelled due to COVID; the intermediary DAC last year was poorly attended, (and timed), so this is the first real networking experience in some 3+ years. To me, Networking has always been what DAC is about; sure, there are demos, classes, speakers, magicians, but the real stuff happens when you run into those you know and those you are introduced to. The sit downs, the catch ups, the finding someone you know or will know that will be beneficiary to you both. That is the importance of DAC and something ZOOM will never offer.
I have said this before, and I will say it again…DAC is not a retail conference, and the numbers of people are not the measure for success. Rather, it is the quality of the companies and their people attending that matters. It is running into an old friend, customer, colleague that you have not seen that opens new possibilities. That to me is what DAC is about and that is why this conference is still so imperative to our industry.
DAC has always been a great place for me to network and shore up old and develop new relationships, secure new job openings, and talk to my network of friends to see who is open and ready to look. Fortunately, for me, (even though that networking will surely be missed), I have plenty of good opportunities.
For example, I need a Technical Account Manager specializing in AMS. I need an Internet SW Test person, Software developers that specialize in FHE and another in Semi/Internet development. I desperately need Front End AE’s, Verification and Safety Engineers and more.
There has never been a better time to consider a change as companies are having a hard time finding the right people and are willing to compensate for that right person. If you see an opening below that looks interesting, send me an email, or give me a call…always glad to chat and advise.
As for this year, white will be missing from DAC but my sports coat will be back, guaranteed, next year and at other conferences.
